How do I add my own domain?

Connect a domain you own to your project in three ways, and get its SSL certificate by itself on the first visit.

Updated 17 Oct 20261 min read

Open your project's Domains tab, choose Add a domain, type the domain, choose how to connect it, and follow the steps on the screen. SSL comes by itself, with the first visit, and renews by itself.

Add it

Asha connects duka.co.tz to her project, duka.

  1. Open your project, then the Domains tab.

  2. Choose Add a domain.

  3. Type your domain under Domain, like duka.co.tz.

  4. Under How to connect it, choose one of the three ways below, then Continue.

  5. Do what the screen shows at the place where your domain is registered. The Domains tab checks every minute and updates by itself.

The three ways

WayWhat you doGood for
Use our nameservers (recommended)Replace your domain's nameservers with the two we show. We copy the records we find first, so email keeps working, then set up every record. Most people
Connect CloudflareApprove on Cloudflare's own page. We add the records in your Cloudflare account.Domains whose DNS is at Cloudflare
Add records yourselfAdd the records we show: an address record that sends visitors here, and a TXT record that proves the domain is yours.Keeping your DNS where it is

How long it takes

  • We notice new nameservers within a minute. Visitors' networks follow within hours, a few within 2 days.

  • Records you add yourself are usually seen within minutes.

  • Once the domain points here, it shows Points here. Its SSL certificate comes with the first visit.

Good to know

  • A project has one main domain. Extra domains point to it, and cost nothing.

  • Choose Edit on a domain to show an app there or redirect it to another of the project's domains.

  • The free address can redirect to your main domain, so search engines see one site.
