How to put your apps, sites and databases online with Tanzahost, connect your domain, and pay only for what they use. Step by step, with real examples.

Updated 22 Oct 2026

These docs explain everything Tanzahost does today, step by step, with the dashboard's own words. Most pages follow Asha, who runs her Laravel shop duka on Tanzahost, so every step has a real example. New here? Start with the Introduction, then Your first deploy.

Get started

What Tanzahost is and how it's organised: Introduction, Your first deploy, Projects and locations, and How billing works: no plans, just the memory and processor time your apps really use, charged every hour from a prepaid wallet. Stuck? Sali, our AI assistant, checks your projects and explains what's wrong. Working without the dashboard: the API, the command-line tool, and AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code.

Apps

How to deploy each kind of app: Laravel, WordPress, one-click apps like WooCommerce and Odoo, Node.js, Python, PHP and static sites. Then how every app works: deploying and rolling back, the settings file, variables, workers, scheduled tasks, limits and sleeping. And the tools beside it: logs, the terminal, SFTP and SSH from your own computer, metrics and alerts, the file manager, environments and previews, protection and speed at the door, and sending email from your app.

Databases

MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Valkey, each private to its project and backed up 5 days a week: start with the overview, then MySQL and MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Valkey. Connecting an app fills in its variables for you; connecting from your own computer, users and passwords, import and export and backups and restore cover the rest.

Domains

Put your own domain on your app, with SSL that renews itself: add a domain, DNS records, SSL certificates, Connect Cloudflare, and buying a domain.

Email

Email at your own domain, like asha@duka.co.tz: turn on email and its DNS records, mailboxes and mail apps for phones, Outlook and the browser, and forwarding, aliases and auto-reply.

Account

Your wallet and how you pay: wallet and top-ups, the spending cap and receipts. Keeping your account safe: login security. Working together: your team, with roles and access per project, and support tickets. And closing your account.

Errors

Saw a message you don't understand? The error pages explain the common ones, one page each, with the fix.
