Draft

In short: The few cookies and browser storage Tanzahost uses, all needed for it to work. No advertising or tracking.

Being reviewed by our lawyer

This is our draft, written from what Tanzahost really does. It isn't in force yet: it takes effect once our lawyer has approved it, and we'll show the date here.

In short

We use only what Tanzahost needs to work: keeping you logged in, protecting forms and remembering small choices you make. No advertising cookies, no tracking across sites, no outside analytics. Because they're all needed, we don't ask you to accept them, and turning them off in your browser stops logging in from working.

Cookies

  • tanzahost_session keeps you logged in, on Tanzahost's own addresses only: 30 days, or until you log out.
  • signed_in tells our website you're logged in, so it shows Go to dashboard. It holds nothing but a yes: 30 days, or until you log out.
  • The login form's safety cookie stops other sites from sending forms in your name: while you log in or sign up, at most an hour.
  • tz_pass is set on a site we host when it's under attack and you passed the check, so you aren't checked again: 30 minutes.
  • tz_unlocked is set when you type the password of a protected test version of a site: 12 hours.

Storage in your browser

  • How you logged in last time (a passkey, a password or another way), so the login page offers it first. Never who you are.
  • Light or dark, if you chose one.
  • Where an upload got to, so a broken connection can carry on.
  • Your choice of currency on our website.

Sites we host

The sites our customers run on Tanzahost may set their own cookies. Their owners are responsible for them and for telling you.
