Ghost: a blog and newsletter, with members and paid subscriptions. It comes from its makers' official release, at an exact version, checked for known security problems and tried on a real server before we offered it.
What it makes
The app, with 1 GB of memory and 1 processor: the limits it runs well with. They're ceilings, not sizes: it pays only for what it really uses, and you can change them on the install page or later. See limits.
Its own MySQL 8 database (512 MB of memory and half a processor), made and connected by itself, with its password kept for you.
A free address with HTTPS, and the project's backups, with a first one as soon as it's ready.
Ghost sends members their sign-in links and your newsletters by email. Turn on email sending for the app first: see sending email from your app. Until then, members can't sign in and newsletters aren't sent.
Install it
Asha wants Ghost in her project duka.
Open the project. On its Overview, under Add a service, choose From the catalog.
Search for Ghost, or pick it under its category, then choose Install.
Give it an App name, like
blog, and type the Admin email you'll log in with.Check its limits and the monthly estimate, then choose Install.
A strong password is shown once. Copy it, then choose I've saved it. The app's card shows each step until Ready; until then nobody but you can reach it.
Ghost needs more memory than a new account can use. Your first payment lifts that: top up your wallet once, then install it. See your wallet.
Its admin page
When it's ready, choose Open its admin page on its card: its address followed by /ghost/. Log in with your email and the password you saved, then:
Under Settings → General, set your site's title, description and language.
Choose a theme under Settings → Design.
Write your first post with + New post, then publish it.
Updates
When a newer, checked version of the same line is out, the app's card shows Update to that version. The project is backed up first; if the new version doesn't start, the one before keeps serving. Security updates install by themselves unless you switch that off on the card, and for 7 days after an update you can Go back to the version before. A new line, like Ghost 6 to Ghost 7, is a new install, never an update. If the version you run is found to have a known security hole, you get one email and a message under the bell, with Update on the card. See one-click apps.
Licence
Ghost is made by its makers, not by us, and keeps its own licence: MIT. Its website: ghost.org.
