WordPress with The Events Calendar

Install WordPress with The Events Calendar in one click: a WordPress website with an events calendar and tickets. What it makes, its admin page and first steps.

Updated 29 Oct 20262 min read

Put your dates where people can find them: The Events Calendar gives a WordPress site a month grid, a page for each event, and, with its ticketing add-on, a way for visitors to take a place. The plugin is installed from wordpress.org at one pinned version, its checksum checked before it runs.

What it makes

  • A WordPress site with 512 MB of memory and half a processor: a calendar is light, and these ceilings are yours to change at any time. You pay for the memory and processor time the site actually uses. See limits.

  • A MySQL database, made for the site and connected to it.

  • A free address with HTTPS, and the project's backups, with one taken as soon as the site is up.

Install it

Asha's shop holds a tasting evening every month, and the dates deserve better than a poster.

  1. From the project's Overview, choose Add a service → From the catalog.

  2. Search for WordPress with The Events Calendar and press Install.

  3. Name the app events (or whatever reads best), and type the Admin email you'll use.

  4. Look over the limits and the monthly estimate, then press Install.

A strong password appears just once. Copy it, press I've saved it, and watch the card work through its steps.

Its admin page

Open the admin page from the card and sign in. Three things make the calendar useful:

  1. Events → Add New — the event, with its date, time and place.

  2. Events → Settings — how the grid looks and what each event's page shows.

  3. Appearance → Menus — put the calendar in your menu where visitors will find it.

Updates

The plugin and WordPress keep themselves current, and the project's backups hold the events past and future. More about the site underneath lives at WordPress.

Licence

The Events Calendar is made by its own company and keeps its own licence, GPL-2.0-or-later. Its website: theeventscalendar.com.
