Email for your domain
Turn on email for your domain in one click, see the DNS records it needs, add more domains that receive the same mail, and know what it costs.

Your project can have email at its own domain: asha@duka.co.tz instead of a free address. Turn it on once for the project's main domain, add mailboxes for the people who need them, and read mail on a phone, in Outlook, or in the browser. Mailboxes live in your project's location, next to its apps.
Before you start
The domain is added to the project and proven: its page says so. See add a domain.
You're the account's Owner or a Developer with this project.
Turn on email
Open your project, then its Email tab.
Choose Turn on email. The domain gets a home on a mail server in your project's location.
Look at DNS records. Each one shows whether it's live yet.
If your domain uses our nameservers, or you connected Cloudflare, the records are added for you, beside your own. With any other DNS company, the tab shows each record exactly as you add it there, and checks it until it's live.
The records, and what each one does
| Record | What it does |
|---|---|
| MX | Tells the world where your domain's mail goes |
| SPF | Lists who may send as your domain. Ours is one line you don't need to change |
| DKIM | A key that signs each email you send, so receivers know it's really from you |
| DMARC | Tells receivers what to do with mail that fails those checks. We start it in "report only" |
| Phones and Outlook | Let mail apps find their settings by themselves: mail. and your domain |
Already have an SPF record, for Google Workspace or a newsletter tool? Never add a second one: two SPF records break both. The tab merges them into one. Under Other services that send as your domain, choose Add a service for each tool that sends as you, then Save services.
More domains, the same mailboxes
A business with duka.co.tz and duka.com wants mail to both. Under Other domains, choose Add a domain and pick another proven domain of the project. Mail to info@duka.com then lands in info@duka.co.tz's mailbox. A project can receive at up to 10 extra domains. Those domains only receive: you send from the main one.
Example: Asha's shop gets its email
Asha's shop runs at duka.co.tz, on our nameservers. She opens Email, chooses Turn on email, and every record shows live within a minute. She adds a mailbox for herself and one for Juma, who packs the orders, and an alias, orders@, that reaches them both. Her customers now write to orders@duka.co.tz, and her receipts arrive from the same domain, signed.
What it costs
You pay for what's used, like everything else on your wallet:
each mailbox, by the hour while it exists;
the storage its mail takes, per GB a month, like an app's files;
each email sent out. Received mail is free, because nobody chooses how much mail they get.
The prices are on the pricing page. Before your account's first top-up, a project can have 2 mailboxes.
Turn email off
Under Turn off email, delete every mailbox first, then type the domain's name and choose Turn off email. Nothing is kept, and the records we made are removed.

Add the people: mailboxes and mail apps. Send copies elsewhere, share an address or answer while you're away: forwarding, aliases and auto-reply.
