Laravel starter: a new Laravel app to build on, with its database ready. It comes from its makers' official release, at an exact version, checked for known security problems and tried on a real server before we offered it.

What it makes

  • The app, with 512 MB of memory and half a processor: the limits it runs well with. They're ceilings, not sizes: it pays only for what it really uses, and you can change them on the install page or later. See limits.

  • A MySQL database, in the location's shared MySQL where there is room, or its own, made and connected by itself, with its password kept for you.

  • A free address with HTTPS, and the project's backups, with a first one as soon as it's ready.

The starter is Laravel's own code at an exact release, built like any app of yours. Once installed, the code is yours: new Laravel releases go to new installs, and you update your own app as you would any Laravel project.

Install it

Asha wants Laravel starter in her project duka.

  1. Open the project. On its Overview, under Add a service, choose From the catalog.

  2. Search for Laravel starter, or pick it under its category, then choose Install.

  3. Give it an App name, like api, and type the Admin email you'll log in with.

  4. Check its limits and the monthly estimate, then choose Install.

A strong password is shown once. Copy it, then choose I've saved it. The app's card shows each step until Ready; until then nobody but you can reach it.

First steps

  1. Open the app's address: Laravel's welcome page answers.

  2. Its code is your app's first version. Connect your own GitHub repository on the app's Settings to deploy your changes from then on.

  3. Its database's address and password are already in its variables.

Updates

The starter is a starting point: after the install the code is yours, and you change and deploy it like any app. See Laravel.

Licence

Laravel starter is made by its makers, not by us, and keeps its own licence: MIT. Its website: laravel.com.
